Here I the complete Retr0bright procedure of my refurbished ATARI 1040 STFM Computer und ATARI SC1224 color monitor.

The case before brightening

To good retrobrightening the key caps I put them on plexiglass shied with double sided tape.
Before I started brightening I made a photo and masked it after with gaffer tape. Sadly it was damaged anyway.
What a nasty work to clean all these rubber domes.
Here after brightening. Sadly the logo was also damaged but I swapped it with a forged one.
And here the keyboard. I didn’t found a replacement for the broken Alternate key so I have to print one.
Actually I refurbed the monitor at first with new capacitors but here’s the 1040 STFM mainboard with fresh Vishay caps.
The Floppy Drive with untouched caps. It’s in fact a rare Chinon D357 720K.
Here completely reassembled.
This modification was made in the 1990’s because at this time it was very difficult to find the same original floppy drive. I don’t know what the original was. But it still works!
Because all my floppy’s are broken after such a long time I upgraded to a Gotek USB Floppy Emulator with Flash Floppy Firmware.
