1999 – 2003 / 1. Self Made PC
This was my very first self made PC that I build with 14. years. The knowledge I learned these days by reading Computer Gaming Magazines like GameStar (German) and PC Joker (German). Unfortunately I don’t have more informations about the PC case. Because I replaced the graphic card in the meantime so I split that section.

This is the initial graphic card that I bought with all parts together. Due of a really annoying GPU FAN I swapped it with a Thermaltake Blue Orb. I found a picture of the card from 2002 but unfortunately with a potato quality. 🙂

Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster 16 ISA
This was my first sound card at all. It was also in use in my PRIVILEG 3×86 SX-20. In the meantime I played a bit around with a C-Media PCI Sound Card that was packed with the speakers. But this sound card was awful. It was one of the first Plug & Play PCI Sound Cards but the filtering of this SK was very bad (audible ripple voltage, sound plopp after played wave tone). So I switched back to the good old SB16 ISA Card. Btw. this SK is also in my Wood Projects.

1996 / Privileg 3×86-SX20
This was my second own PC. It was bought of my father in the 1991 from the back then Quelle company. In 1996 he donated me this PC because it doesn’t work well anymore. The battery had reached its lifetime and doesn’t hold the BIOS changes anymore after PC shutdown. So the back then life partner of my mother and I unsoldered the old battery and soldered an AA battery holder in. After that the PC worked very well again but was not long after replaced with the Vobis Highscreen Sky Mini. The PRIVILEG runs Windows 3.0 first but upgraded short time after to Windows 3.11.

1996 / ATARI 1040 STFM
This was my very first own PC ever! In the past it was owned by my older brother and I played sometimes secretly on it. 🙂 As far as I know I got this ATARI coupled with the PRIVILEG because my father failed by removing a disk from the floppy drive that was stuck in it and broke the red-write-head. Theo (back then life partner of my mother) organized a new floppy that was not really for this ATARI Model and assembled it with some modifications on the case. I still own this ATARI and you can also see the modifications here.
